This oven safety thermostat on built in ovens, is mounted to the rear of the oven cavity and will stop the oven from working normally when faulty. The safety thermostat would be tripped usually by the oven overheating, in which case the main oven thermostat may be faulty and have cause this safety thermostat to fail or, through lack of ventilation and so on.
