PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

WetRag is a reusable heat blocking putty that keeps piping and sensitive components cooler than traditional wet rag applications during brazing, soldering or welding. It is made from the same materials found in the heat shield of the space shuttle. Simply apply, remove, and reuse.

WetRag protects surfaces, valves, and other sensitive parts from heat damage by blocking direct and conductive heat transfer. Its no-mess formula can be used with Map/Pro, Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, TIG, Arc and propane torches.

APPLICATION:

Simply mold a generous amount of putty in front of the area that needs to be protected from heat. After piping has cooled remove putty and place back into jar. Remoisten with a few drops of water if putty becomes dry. Good for up to 40 uses.

DIRECTIONS: 

1. Mould as much putty to the surface as you can for maximum protection
2. Welding techniques and applications will vary. Use additional safeguard materials to protect if necessary. Use low flame and flow nitrogen for added protection
3. Braze, solder, or weld
4. Allow surfaces to cool
5. Remove putty

FRIDGEY FACTS:

• WetRag withstands temperatures greater than 1100°C
• Reusable up to 40 times and can be simply moistened with a small amount of water if it becomes dry
• Only the air inside the tubing will heat up, so use low heat and flow nitrogen for added protection
• Products of combustion or direct contact with the flame are non-toxic
• When the green colour changes, it is time to replace the product
